Introduction
KANPELET is the home town of southern Chin tribes of Dai,
Yinduu Daa, Upu (Chinpon), and Ng'Ya clans. In fact Yindu and so called Ng'ya
people are the sae tribe according to taditional a clan descendent and the same
clan. It can be found especially in ancient Burmese official literature. It's
the famous town of the Chin state for its own beautiful scenery of Myanmar
because of Mount Victoria is located in KPL, 3053 meter high at the southern
part and Around its own border- ther are Saw, Mindat, Paletwa, Setotayar and
Minpyar township.

3.9' in the southern
Chin State. It is 4,560 ft above sea level. Kanpetlet is bordered jwith Paletwa
Township in the west, Swa Township in the east, saytottaya and Minbyar tonships
in the south and Mindat Township in the north. Kanpetlet is situated
approximately (490) miles far from Yangon. Thus, it takes about on hour by air
way from yangon to Nyaung Oo and then six hours driving ro reach to Kanpetlet
form Nyaung Oo through Pakokku-Kyaukhtu-Saw-Kanpetlet by Car and road condution
is better then previous years because some companies have been repairing along
this road. Moreover, Kanpetlet can also be accessible by
Yangon-Chauk-Saw-Kanpetlet by Car/Line bus and it takes roung about 20 driving
hours.
Fomous Mount
Victoria(10,500 ft) is situated 15 Miles away from Kanpetlet Township. Besides
mountaineering this is the best palce for hiking to nesrby villaes to see the
village lives and birth watching. There still can be seen chin lady with
Tattooed face. Chin New Year festival is held annually in Chin State on the
waxing moon of the Kason, May. And its festival is performed a dance making
farewell to the old year and welcoming New Year. There are (5) major ethnics
but in each ethnic have so many races live in every village.
